The Minibus Driver Training Course courses consist of 2 categories: Standard or Accessible (Wheelchair carrying Cars/MPV`s & Minibuses).
The Standard Element.
Classroom Based session.
The Standard course is normally used by schools and local authorities and can be for minibuses or cars/ MPV’s. The 3 hours classroom based theory session includes information on:
- New Highway Code Rules and a Highway Code Quiz
- Defensive Driving
- Legal Responsibilities of Drivers
- Passenger Safety
- Vehicle Checks
- Child Passenger Safety
- Manual Handling Awareness
- Health and Safety Awareness
- Accident & Emergency Procedures
- Personal Safety for Drivers
The on-road part of the course is normally completed 2/3 candidates to 1 trainer with a demonstration drive by the trainer, a practice session for each and then an assessment (45-50 mins each).
Each candidate that is successful will receive a AMT certificate which is valid for 3 or 4 years, a handbook and relevant handouts.
The organisation will receive a letter with concerns or achievements and a copy of each candidates’ assessment form for their records.
